Madan Samba is living a waking dream. After joining SA Spinalien (N2) at the dawn of summer, the native of Saint-Dié is about to write one of the most beautiful pages of his career. Indeed, he has just been called up to the Mauritania selection for the first time. An achievement for the 28-year-old: “It is a great source of pride. I always wanted to wear a Mauritanian shirt. This is a very good opportunity for me. I want to give everything for this country, the country of my parents,” the spinal striker revels.
When his name appears in the group revealed by Mauritania coach Amir Abdou this Thursday at 2pm, Madan Samba has just entered another dimension. Although the latter admits that it was difficult for him to believe this selection: “On Monday evening, the coach called me that he was counting on me for the next rally. I was surprised. I even thought it was a joke.”
” Now or never “
Déodatien is expected from September 19-27 (“I’m available for the SAS match against Colmar this Saturday”, Spinalian No. 11 clarifies) for Mourabitounes’ internship in Rabat (Morocco) and should therefore take part in both of Mauritania’s warm-up matches on at the Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia against Benin (Saturday 24 September) and Congo (Tuesday 27 September).
After successful first steps under the spinal tunic, but hampered by a three-match suspension following the expulsion from Saint-Maur, Madan Samba sees this selection as “just reward for the work done over several seasons”. Determined to “go for this jersey”, Déodatien intends to use every second and “mark the ghosts if the coach calls me”. A new experience in his career that could lead to more: “I’m 28 years old. Now or never “.
