In the battle of the sports collectibles auction, basketball legend Michael Jordan broke all records. The auction house Sotheby’s sold the basketball player’s jersey worn in his last NBA title in 1998 on Thursday, September 15 for 10.1 million dollars.
The famous red jersey with the number 23 of the Chicago Bulls broke the previous world record, which was held by the jersey of soccer player Diego Maradona, it sold for some 9.3 million dollars.
Sotheby’s auction house auctioned the article for eight days in September for a price ranging from three to five million dollars. Jordan’s jersey, worn for Game 1 of the 1997-98 NBA Finals, ended up in the high range at twice its estimated price.
